Storage Guidelines
Use these general practices to protect product identity, packaging, and traceability. Product-specific label or documentation instructions always take precedence.
Product-Specific Instructions Come First
Storage needs can differ by product, form, packaging, and preparation state. Follow the product label and supplied documentation. If instructions conflict with this page, use the product-specific instructions and contact us before proceeding if clarification is needed.
Protect the Container
- Keep material in its original, clearly labeled container.
- Keep closures secure and protect packaging from damage.
- Minimize unnecessary exposure to air, moisture, direct light, and temperature changes.
Controlled Storage
Use a clean, secure, access-controlled research storage area with appropriate monitoring. Do not assume that refrigeration or freezing is appropriate unless the product-specific instructions direct it.
Identification & Inventory
Preserve the product name, batch number, receipt date, and storage history. Segregate damaged, leaking, improperly stored, expired, or unidentified material pending assessment and disposition.
Handling
Use trained personnel, suitable engineering controls, appropriate personal protective equipment, clean tools, and procedures designed to avoid contamination or mix-ups. Do not return removed material to the original container.
Prepared Materials
Preparation or reconstitution may change stability and storage requirements. Establish a validated research protocol appropriate to the material; do not infer prepared-material stability from unopened-product guidance.
Questions or Excursions
If a product experiences an unknown storage condition, damaged packaging, or a temperature excursion, isolate it and document what occurred. Contact support with the product and batch information before relying on it.
